Our client manages a herd of 1,000 breeders and progeny on a picturesque property on the fringe of the Horton Valley. They are looking for a dedicated Station Hand to join their family operation and assist with managing a herd of that size, as well as sowing fodder crops and seasonal pastures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cattle Grazing: Assist in all aspects of cattle management.
- Crop Sowing: Help with sowing fodder crops and seasonal pastures.
- Station Duties: Undertake all designated station tasks such as maintaining fences and water infrastructure to the best of your abilities.
Ideal Candidate:
- Agriculture Focused: Passionate about Australian agriculture, particularly cattle grazing.
- Reliable and Teachable: Possesses a “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn.
- Respectful: Treats animals, machinery and cottage with respect.
- Good Communicator: Able to communicate effectively and get along well with others.
- Experienced: Has a solid grasp of basic Station Hand skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Non-Smoker/Non-Vaper: Essential.
- Low-Stress Stock Handling Skills: Essential.
- Horse and Bike Riding: Confidently ride horses and/or 2-wheel bikes.
- Crop Growing Experience: Experience with fodder and forage crops is desirable.
- Truck License: Desirable but not essential.

- Accommodation: A 2-bedroom cottage with newly installed reverse cycle air-conditioning and a 2-bay car shed.
- Pets: Outdoor pets are negotiable. Work horses and dogs are capped at 2 each, provided they are used efficiently. Hunting dogs of any breed are prohibited.
