Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Station hand to join our existing team.
It is a full-time position Monday – Friday with occasional weekend work when required.
Work includes but not limited to:
- Daily care and management of Wagyu cattle, including feeding, health checks, and general husbandry.
- Implementing breeding programs and assisting with calving.
- Monitoring and maintaining the health and welfare of the herd.
- Operating and maintaining farm equipment and infrastructure.
- Collaborating with the farm owners and manager to ensure the highest standards of livestock care.
- Utilising working dogs to assist with cattle handling and movement.
- Riding horses to assist with cattle mustering and general farm work.
- Maintaining accurate records of livestock performance and health.
- Paddock based labour, fencing maintenance, checking water, horse basics, feeding, grooming, computer work, database management, beef processing & sales support, occasional delivery support, welding, property maintenance, and exposure the full supply chain.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in livestock handling, preferably with cattle.
- Strong understanding of animal health and welfare practices.
- Proficiency in the use of farm machinery and equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A genuine passion for livestock and farming.
- Australian driver’s license essential/ Valid HR truck licence (preferred).
- Some prior knowledge of cattle
- Proficiency with XL
- Strong communication and organizational skills and written reporting skills
- Ability to follow instructions with pride and accuracy
