A bit about the role
You will provide quality and timely advice to Council, the community and stakeholders on growth area planning in Casey.
Contribute to the implementation of Councils strategic planning framework and Casey’s appeal as a desirable place to live, invest and do business.
What you’ll deliver
Prepare draft Committee and Council reports, and reports on matters delegated to senior officers, together with appropriate recommendations for consideration by the Manager and/or Team Leader.
Investigate, inspect, report and process planning applications in a timely manner and in accordance with statutory requirements and Council policy.
Prepare appeal submissions and represent Council at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Deal with enquiries and discuss or explain planning matters with professional and non-professional individuals and groups.
Assist in the preparation of planning policies, correspondence relating to reports and enquiries.
Assist in the preparation and processing of Planning Scheme amendments including representing Council at Panel hearings.
Represent Council at functions, meetings, seminars etc. both during and outside normal working hours, as necessary to effectively carry out the position and convey a positive public image of Council 5
What you’ll bring
Substantial progress towards a relevant Degree or Diploma will be considered.
Current Australian Driver's Licence
Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check
