The Opportunity
Now is a great time to join our Advisory Practice as we are involved in a number of challenging and exciting projects across Australia. These projects may include major linear infrastructure, industrial development, Defence projects and transport projects from feasibility, through to construction and operation.
Due to continued growth, our team is currently seeking a Junior levelStatutory Planner to join our team based in Melbourne. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with suitable experience and a passion and drive to thrive in the consulting sector and to work within and strengthen our Advisory Practice.
The successful applicant will be responsible for providing professional planning, project management and development support to our internal and external clients by utilising their technical knowledge and applying their developed skill set to complement a wide range of projects.
This exciting opportunity provides you with the chance to work across the business in addition to your day-to-day core abilities whilst developing your capabilities as a consultant. Joining a growing and supportive team will require you to display versatility and agility, work collaboratively across business lines and support team members on day-to-day activities and deliverables.
Working closely with our national planning team, you will be responsible for:
- Providing key support on the delivery of projects;
- Undertaking planning due diligences and assessments for client projects;
- Preparing planning permit and environmental approval applications for clients;
- Collaboration with engineers, designers, project managers and other disciplines on projects;
- Providing client relationship support;
- Driving strategy goals and objectives to support a sustainable business;
- Assisting senior planners with project management support;
- Assisting senior planners with the preparation of tenders and proposals.
What We’ll Like About You
This is a Junior level role, and we are looking for a Statutory Planner who possesses the following:
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in environmental planning, town planning, or an equivalent qualification;
- Demonstrated understanding of Federal, Victorian and local planning and environmental legislation;
- An interest and passion to work in the consulting sector;
- Demonstrated and developing planning experience;
- “Can do” attitude with a willingness to learn;
- Ideally have some years of experience in a similar role within a consultancy or similar practice;
- Highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise and manage expectations;
- An interest and flexibility in working across various sectors, including Defence, Renewables, Power, Resources, Transport and Industrial;
- A desire to work in a team environment is essential;
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
