Statutory Property Officer

This is a Permanent Full Time position. Salary from $86,176.27 to $116,066.76 per annum plus superannuation. (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)

Are you a meticulous, results-driven professional who thrives on challenges? Join our vibrant Property Services team as a Statutory Property Officer!

This role will involve handling land sales, acquisitions, road closures, and special projects for the Council, ensuring timely and exceptional results.

In addition to handling intricate property matters, you'll provide insightful technical advice to both internal and external stakeholders, informing Council's decision-making process regarding its property portfolio. With your exceptional organisational and negotiation skills, you'll excel in this diverse, stimulating, and challenging position.

What you will be doing:

The Statutory Property Officer's role encompasses a multifaceted approach to managing Council land. This involves assessing the suitability and financial potential of land for disposal or redevelopment, coordinating the marketing and sale of Council land and negotiating with various stakeholders such as landowners, solicitors, and consultants on property related matters. Additionally, the officer plays a crucial role in handling acquisitions of land, overseeing road closure applications and road dedications as well as maintaining Council's land register.

The role entails detailed research on property matters as well as the review and interpretation of legislation, property plans, surveys, legal documentation and valuation reports. You will prepare correspondence, reports, recommendations and technical advice on Statutory Property matters for internal and external stakeholders.

About you:

  • You have excellent customer service skills, confident to provide advice and respond to varied stakeholder enquiries.
  • You have an excellent understanding of plans, property information and legal documents.
  • You have an eye for detail.
  • You are a team-player, who can contribute to a team as well as work independently.
