My client is a prominent distributor within the FMCG industry. They are a supplier to and owner of independent supermarket operators in Australia and they operate a large distribution centre. They supply to around 300 independent retail stores nationally.
The opportunity has arisen for a Store manager to manage, grow and develop a store in Toowoomba. The goal is to set, create and deliver standard for the profitable growth using agreed merchandising strategies. The role will manage the store with 12 staff (6am-8pm store hours) and there is a real opportunity here for the right candidate to make a name for themselves. At this stage, the Store manager could be in a position to work Monday – Friday, with only occasional weekends. They are in an exciting expansion phase and you will be right there at the beginning of this (already started) process. Therefore, we are looking for a dynamic, pro active and successful operator looking for the next step to grow and develop his / her career.
Located in or around Toowoomba, living 1 hour or less from there or wanting to move there, the successful applicant will be responsible for the achievement of key financial KPI's, maintaining and growing store performance as well as delivering strategic initiatives in line with company objectives.
Responsibilities:
* Improve store financial performance objectives, sales and profitability
* Management of 3 smaller style stores
* Ensure implementation of company policies, code of conduct and ethics
* Monitoring of financial & budgetary transactions to ensure efficient operation and expenditures within budget limitations.
* Expenditure control
* Staff management of an experienced retail management group
* Creating and maintaining an outstanding customer service culture.
Skills & Experience:
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build solid working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
* Results focused with high energy, proactively driving a fast-paced business environment to exceed performance indicators and Company objectives.
* Managerial experience and an ability to develop and maintain strong customer partnerships.
* Demonstrate a solid retail operational background with proven success in site growth and systems development, which includes building a successful retail brand and team.
* Advanced analytical skills with the ability to use your findings to implement beneficial solutions.
* Proven leadership skills to enable you to effectively manage, inspire and guide multiple levels including Operations, Area and Store Management
* Achievement in developing annual business plans and expense budgets for a sales department; establishing monthly sales and profit objectives; and, conducting the affairs of the Company in a fashion conducive to achieving its sales goals.
* Business acumen that has delivered proven sales / profit growth
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
