International Chemicals Engineering (I.C.E) is offering a 'Storeman & Driver' role to join our growing team based in Dandenong South. I.C.E has a small team of 9 staff and is the Australian & New Zealand leader in providing chemical injection systems, engineering expertise and chemical supply of gas odorants. I.C.E deals predominately with the Oil and Gas sector and we are looking to expand our team of operators and engineers.
About the role
International Chemicals Engineering (I.C.E) is offering an assistant role for chemical handling & driving within the 'odorant' division. This unique position involves assisting with the handling and transferring of Dangerous Goods (specifically gas odorants) and driving the company Medium Rigid Dangerous Goods truck. This role also offers an opportunity to be involved with vehicle & forklift maintenance, pressure vessel upkeep & freight. The position provides variety, a great working culture in a small company & the opportunity to learn all aspects of the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting operations manager with chemical handling & chemical transfers
- Safely using forklift to load and unload DG vessels
- Driving Company Medium Rigid truck for customer deliveries and collections
- Assist with Freight & logistics for customers deliveries (using third party software)
- Assist with procurement & vessel maintenance
- Assist with email & phone enquiries
- Support engineering division with fabrication and maintenance

Skills and experience
Ideally the successful applicant must have a forklift license and a medium rigid driving license, and is willing to become DG licensed. It would be advantageous to have 1-3 years industry experience, especially with chemical handling & logistics. We are looking for a candidate with the following skills and experience:
- Forklift license
- Medium Rigid driving license (DG license beneficial)
- Experience in stores &/or chemical handling
- 1-3 years experience in work force with references
- Practical experience working with tools
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Team player works well in team environment with the ability to adapt to a variety of roles
- Well organised with solid time management
- Ability to work in Australia; Australian Permanent Resident or an Australian Citizen
