AddressDue to continued growth, we are seeking a transport expert to join our business and assist in the future growth.
As our Straight-Line Transport Specialist, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing our transportation routes. Your main responsibility will be to allocate transport resources effectively, ensuring timely delivery and cost-efficiency. You will work closely with drivers, clients, and the logistics team to ensure smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Co-ordination and delegation of transport activities within our sub-contractor base along with our local fleet, company L/H and operational teams.
- Deliver exceptional Direct / Straight line service options with satisfactory outcomes for both customers and the Followmont business.
- Deliver and maintain high standards around customer service, with timely and precious communications internally and externally.
- Process documentation in a timely manner daily to meet business requirements.
- Update and maintain timely and accurate, billing and costs related to all Direct / Straight line movements to provide clear and visibility to the business.
- Good business / financial acumen.
- Apply high attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting and general record keeping.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a similar transport role essential or with real operational transport experience with at least 3 + years.
- Ability to apply high attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting and general record keeping.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills required.
- Exceptional organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team while prioritising tasks.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work well under pressure.
- IT literacy and sound Microsoft office skills including Excel.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
