About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and passionate part-time weekend Chef working Saturday and Sunday 09:00 – 17:00 to join the supportive team at Baptcare’s Strathalan Retirement Living Cafe in Macleod, Victoria. The Chef's role is crucial, ensuring meals meet residents' individual nutritional needs and preferences, in alignment with the Food Safety Program guidelines. As a weekend chef
Key Duties:
- Contribute to the production of food items, including therapeutic diets and special meals.
- Follow recipe cards and prepare defined menus promptly.
- Assist the Head Chef in managing the food safety plan's day-to-day compliance.
- Manage stock items efficiently.
- Ensure meals meet residents' individual needs.
- Maintain Food Safety Program guidelines.
- Ensure all catering staff practice safe food handling.
About You:
If you are passionate about growing your career in hospitality within Residential Aged Care, you are solution-focused and aligned with organizational goals. As a collaborative team member, you support others with respect in your day-to-day actions.
Ideally, You would bring:
- Relevant Industry Training – Food Handling and Hygiene Certificate.
- Commercial cookery certificate III / IV.
- Current police clearance and Statutory Declaration allowing work in Aged Care.
- Previous experience and working knowledge of menu planning, ordering, and special diet preparation.
- Previous experience working in catering in a residential aged care facility.
