About the Role

We are seeking a Structural Drafter / Designer to join our dynamic team in Brisbane. In this role, you will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and models for structural components of various construction projects.

You will be part of our structural design and drafting team, reporting to the discipline Lead, and will be working alongside our Principal and Senior Structural Engineer’s. Additional experience in design will be looked upon favourably but is not a perquisite for the role. 

You will have the opportunity to work in an agile business, being part of diverse projects whilst working alongside a passionate and experienced team - delivering innovative solutions to our clients both in the public and private sectors.

This role involves:

• Structural Design and detailing
• Creating 2D and 3D modelling
• Using Revit to complete documentation for the design and construction of any array of projects
• Incorporating design changes and modifications based on feedback from project stakeholders.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards, building codes, and project specifications in all design deliverables.
• Reviewing and interpreting construction plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Maintaining records of internal and external documentation, drawing issues and revisions
• Work across a continuous succession of projects as they progress through the project life cycle from early concept development, detailed design, construction, and commissioning.

About You

• Cert IV Engineering Drafting or related field preferable.
• Proven experience working as a Structural Drafter, Designer, or CAD Technician in the construction or engineering industry.
• Extensive experience in design and documentation of reinforced/precast concrete and steel
• Extensive knowledge with Revit and AutoCAD (essential), any structural software such as Autodesk Advanced Steel, Revit Structural will considered advantage but not essential.
• Exposure to local structural infrastructure or building projects – knowledge and practical application of design theories, Australian Standards, principles, and practices.
• Exposure to structural detailing including but not limited to: Steel portal frame, reinforce concrete structure (suspended slab, columns, footing, beams), retaining walls, platforms, along with ancillary works.
• Strong communicator who can effectively coordinate with the project team, client, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to review and provide constructive feedback with preliminary drawings and interdisciplinary design data.
• Proven ability to work efficiently and effectively within a multi-discipline team environment along with working autonomously.
• Excellent attention to details and accuracy in creating technical drawings and models.
• Strong problem-solving and planning skills.
• Experience with BIM is preferred but not required.
