Continental Steel is an ambitious Structural Steel fabricator specialising in heavy steel construction and metallic structural works industry, based in the Southeast Suburbs of Melbourne.
We service all construction sectors such as residential, commercial & industrial (single and multilevel buildings, schools, hospitals, warehouses, car parks, offices, pavilions for exhibitions and fairs), as well as port plants, airport terminal and hangars, petrochemical plants and mining.
Key responsibilities will include:
Surface preparation for coated using various methods.
Prime coating Structural Steel - Spray and hand coating of manufactured Structural Steel products.
Able to coordinate dispatch of finished products from material lists provided with the area supervisor.
Maintaining and operating industrial painting equipment.
To be successful in this role you will have:
At least 2 years’ experience within the steel industry or other relevant industries
A forklift license (an advantage)
Experience in operating an overhead crane.
Experience working in a busy hands-on workshop environment.
Loading and off loading of truck.
Packaging of steel.
Excellent attention to detail, quality and safety
Good communication skills
A sound work ethic and the motivation to succeed.
What we can offer:
- Hourly base rate compensation will be determined and based on experience.
- Salary package to match the experience. Ordinary hours are 40 hours per week.
Morning shift 5am to 1:30pm afternoon shift 2:00pm to 10:30pm.
