Structural Steel Welder

Shakti Constructions Pty Ltd (ABN - 11 146 555 188 - ACN - 146 555 188) is seeking for a Full Time Welder to join our Business.

Unit 10/11, 93-99 Wingfield Rd, Wingfield SA 5013.

$75,000 + Superannuation (Annual)

As a Welder, your primary focus is precise fabrication of Light/Mid steel work in accordance with specifications, details, and drawings.

Your responsibilities will also include:

Responsibilities

• Studying blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements.
• Selecting, cleaning, and preparing metal stock
• Cutting marked-out metal sections and shapes using hand tools, flame cutting torches and metal cutting machines
• Shaping and bending metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, and by heating and hammering
• Aligning parts to be joined using hand tools and measuring instruments
• Joining metal sections using various welding techniques, bolting and riveting
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Cleaning and smoothing welds by filing, chiselling and grinding

·        Assess welded surfaces, structures and components to identify errors.

·        Follow and enforce strict safety regulations such as wearing heat-resistant gloves, protective masks, and safety shoes.

·        Monitor machinery for appropriate usage and temperature.

·        Weld components in flat, vertical, and overhead positions

·        Working with Oxyacetylene equipment, MiG & arc welder, Power hack saw, drop saw, drill press, stud machine, band saws, cold saws etc.  

Skills and qualifications

·        Trade qualification in metal fabrication or equivalent trade related qualification

·        Work to a high standard with high attention to detail.

·        Ability to work as a team and without supervision.

·        At least five years of highly relevant experience in heavy Structural Steel welding.  

·        Maintain a clean, safe workspace and observe OHS policies and procedures
