East Doncaster Secondary College is a large, single campus, co-educational school with a focus on high academic achievement, excellence in teaching and learning and student connectedness and wellbeing, situated in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
The College has an enrolment of over 1900 students and 223 teaching and education support staff.

The Student and Community Liaison Administrator supports our College in building a vibrant, tolerant and harmonious school community environment. The Student and Community Liaison Administrator works to support the school community in the development of approaches to improve social, emotional, health and educational outcomes for students.
Working 25 hours per week, the Student and Community Liaison Administrator will be responsible for a varied range of actions that will facilitate and improve engagement between students, families, external agencies and the College. This role has a specific focus on supporting students, engaging with their families and external community agencies. This involves the facilitation of engagement strategies and programs, liaison with students, staff, families and external service providers with the aim of maximising educational outcomes and increasing student wellbeing, engagement and attendance. The Student and Community Liaison Administrator will act as a conduit between the College and all facets of the local community, continuing to build positive relationships.

Responsibilities
As the Student and Community Liaison Administrator, the successful candidate applicant will actively engage in providing:
Parental/family supports including:
- Communicating with parents, carers and students to address issues that are barriers to participation and engagement in school.
- Supporting parental engagement activities to build stronger connections and to create a welcoming and inclusive school environment.
- Communicating with parents to ensure that student information and documentation is valid and up to date.
Student supports including:
- Communicate with families following enrolment at the College to monitor the transition process.
- Communicate with families whose child comes from an EAL background to compile required DE documentation.
- Promoting student engagement and leadership opportunities to foster a sense of value, identity and belonging.
- Providing administration support for teachers in charge of student activity, leadership or homework clubs.
- Communicate with families to address challenges with student attendance and engagement with the College.
- Monitor and provide data about programs designed to support and engage students and their families that have been identified as being at risk.
- Maintain the College Alumni database.
- Provide administrative support to the management of the College online social media footprint.
- Liaise with community organisations
- Liaise with the College Enrolment Office, Heads of School, Leading Teacher- Student Voice and Community Engagement, Year Level Coordinators and Wellbeing Coordinators
- Producing the College Newsletter
- Undertake other administrative duties as required
- Follow Child Safe Standards and Mandatory Reporting procedures.
Community outreach, including:
- Creating new or improved partnerships with community organisations, through communication with local community networks and forums.
- Responding to incoming community related emails.
- Applying for community-based grants.

The successful applicant must have a current Working With Children Check (E - Employee) and hold or be prepared to undertake Anaphylaxis Training, Mandatory Reporting, OHS Modules, prior to or upon commencement.
This position is a fixed term, part time, 25 hours per week which may be negotiated over five days per week inclusive of half hour unpaid lunch break throughout the school term.
