Student Life Officer, Student Equity

The Student Life Officer, Student Equity (SE) is a member of the Student Life team within the University Experience Division, which is within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Portfolio. The University Experience Division brings together portfolio-based student facing services, engagement and enrichment programs and education, prevention and early intervention work and initiatives.
The Student Life Officer SE, under the general supervision of Deputy Manager, Student Equity, is responsible for the high-quality design, delivery, implementation, and evaluation of widening participation and equity programs, activities, events, and resources at the ANU, and working in collaboration with our regional university study hub partners. These programs focus on improving pre-access and access to university through the personal, professional, and academic development for traditionally under-represented students (including regional, rural, remote, and low-SES students) and facilitate connections and community building among students from traditionally underrepresented backgrounds, this includes connections to each other; key services; supports; and other programs. Delivery of these program requires regular travel (and stays) in regional, rural, or remote areas.
The Student Life Officer SE works as part of a dedicated student-facing team responsible for taking a holistic approach to student orientation, transition, and engagement with an underlying equity focus. The team believes in, and values, forging collegial relationships with ANU Colleges, other service divisions, and external partners.
