The Opportunity
This is your opportunity to be a part of a world class research Institute making a difference to the health and wellbeing of children. In recognition of the vital role that university students play, the Institute provides a comprehensive program to support their professional growth and development. We are looking for a student coordination superstar who can identify opportunities that deliver great value to student and supervisor experiences.
Your key responsibility in this role will be to ensure that students are supported throughout their journey. Key components to the role include onboarding and inductions, scholarship management, coordinating the professional development program and promoting student wellbeing.
As part of the People & Culture team, a snapshot of other responsibilities include:
Coordinate student ‘recruitment’ and onboarding, including Student inductions. Provide support to supervisors and students in relation to student onboarding, processes and student issues. Develop relationships with key stakeholders within the Institute. Coordination of student events such as: Prospective Student Event, symposiums, professional development, social events Assist with formal work placements, including high school and university placements. Support the management of student scholarships at the Institute. Coordinate the Institute’s student database and student files.This is a full-time permanent position. Part-time may be considered for the right applicant.
About You
This position would suit somebody who is imaginative, innovative with strong administrative and organisational skills. You will have a growth mindset, be adaptable and have the ability to prioritise multiple key priority activities.
Applicants may have a background in student coordination, human resources, science communication, psychology or other people focused disciplines. Key skills that will enable success in the role include:
Adaptive and flexible mindset. Highly developed administration, planning and coordination skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated interpersonal skills. Ability to build and maintain effective networks, work with teams, and coordinate their activities.
