About the Role
The Student Services Assistant is responsible for the coordination and administration of a range of tasks related to the effective management of Student Services across Hunter Valley Grammar School. The Student Services Assistant is a key point of contact for the senior school students and source of information and channel of communication to a variety of stakeholders including students, staff, and parents. The work pattern for this role is:
Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm (including a 30-minute unpaid break), 43 weeks per year.
Key Duties
- Monitor up-coming in-class assessments for all subjects in Years 7 to 12 and organise student Special Provisions that will be accessed in Student Services
- Communicate with staff, families and external specialists in the organization of collaborative meetings as required
- Be a point of contact for senior school students and assist in providing those who access Student Services with calm, kind, insightful support
About You
- High level of literacy and numeracy skills with a high level of attention to detail, organisation, and time management
- High level of written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills along with excellent computer literacy skills (Microsoft Office, Excel, Adobe Suite)
- Ability to engage with students of all ages compassionately and empathetically while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Certificate III or IV in Educational Support or equivalent (highly desirable)
- Experience or qualifications in Special Education, Inclusion or Learning Support (desirable)
