Salary- VET Student Support role within Swinburne University
- Part-time (0.8), 8-month fixed term position at our Hawthorn campus
- HEW 6 salary + 17% super
The Student Success Coach will be responsible for working closely with a designated cohort of incoming and continuing students to identify those in need of additional support in completing their study program. This role involves developing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) in collaboration with students, providing advising, mentoring, and monitoring of ILPs to maximize Student Success in completing their training and progressing to further education, training, or employment. The Student Success Coach will also facilitate referrals to various support services within the University, working closely with Teaching Departments to ensure seamless collaboration with referring teachers and direct access for students.Employed by Pathways and Engagement, the Student Success Coach will play a key role in supporting students and enhancing their educational journey. This position requires a highly motivated vocational/employment services worker with experience in providing a wide range of educational support, course guidance, and pathway advice, particularly for disadvantaged learners. Coaches will report to the Student Success Coach program lead and manager, participating in a team-based Community of Practice to share best practices and continuously improve the service delivery model.Further information about this role can be found in the attached position description.About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated experience in related work and study assistance including; vocational assistance, study support, recruitment, career guidance and employment services
- Experience with high priority cohort would be desirable
- A proven record of managing customer enquiries and a demonstrated commitment to customer service including follow up and closure activities
- Highly developed verbal and written communication and demonstrated computer skills including the use of word processing, spreadsheets and database applications
- A post graduate degree or vocational qualification in Career Development, Community Services, Vocational Training and Assessment with subsequent relevant experience; extensive experience and specialist expertise or broad knowledge or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or knowledge VET sector
