We are hiring a Medical Receptionist, the cornerstone of our healthcare facility. This is a full-time permanent position reporting directly to the Practice Manager.
Qualifications & experience
- At least 2 years’ experience at a healthcare facility in Medical Receptionist role – ideally procedural specialist (cardiology, gastro, or surgeon) or hospital.
- Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology.
- Exceptional multitasking and time management skills. Proficient in Microsoft applications – Outlook and Word.
- Ability to work under pressure and react effectively to emergency situations. Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.
- Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task. Pleasant and calm telephone manner
- This role requires regular interaction with vulnerable individuals, therefore a calm and professional approach to patients and difficult situations.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Use computer programs and registration systems to schedule patients for routine procedures and appointments.
- Coordinate patient scheduling, check-in, check-out and payments for billing.
- Assist patients to complete necessary medical forms and documentation.
- Sanitize, re-stock and daily cleaning of reception and clinic rooms.
- Liaise with patients and families on arrival, updating demographics and personal information.
- Liaise with other GP’s and health professionals for supporting documentation, results and referrals
- Prepare consult letters for mail out. Answer incoming calls in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform other administrative duties as directed by your Practice Manager or Principal doctors.
