“A vacancy exists for a Medical Secretary (Part-Time/Casual) in a Specialist Medical Practice in Campsie near Canterbury Hospital.
An applicant should have previous experience and secretarial training. The position involves computer skills, typing letters using a dictaphone, book-keeping, team-work, good people skills with the ability to interact with patients compassionately. Ability to use Genie and Eclipse essential. Your experience in a similar role will be highly regarded. You will need to be committed to providing good patient care, be well presented, friendly and courteous and represent the practice in a confident and positive manner.
The role is varied with responsibilities ranging from
telephone calls, voice recognition typing, making appointments, booking
surgeries, organising patient accounts, the whole range of work that might be
expected of a secretary working for busy surgeons.
To be successful in this role if is essential you can demonstrate:
Well-developed time management skills and ability to multi-task
Must having minimum typing speed 65wpm
Flexibility to cover other staff members leave
Calm demeanour and not easily flustered
Able to work independently with minimum supervision, as well as in a team.
