The role of Subcontracts Specialist will see you join a high-performing team at a tier-one company that works together to develop and provide solutions for our customers.
About the role
As the Subcontracts Specialist you will have accountability for the west coast subcontracts portfolio. In this role you will establish subcontracts and support supplier performance management for UGL’s Services Division.
Reporting to the Subcontracts Manager, you will apply expert and authoritative contracting and commercial knowledge and industry experience to mitigate subcontract and supplier risk and ensure compliance with UGL governance and head contract requirements.
As a valued member of the Business Services team, you will:
- Work with project delivery and tender teams to develop and implement robust procurement management plans
- Support category management frameworks and develop strategic sourcing approaches and negotiate best practice subcontracts
- Identify and manage subcontracting risk and opportunities
- Collaborate with project and commercial teams to support the on-time and on-budget delivery of projects for UGL and its clients
About you
The role requires astute subcontract commercial negotiations, subcontract risk appraisals and adaptive soft skills to manage vendor performance.
Ideally, your skills and experience include:
- A tertiary qualification in law, business, engineering, quantity surveying, supply chain, procurement, or project management
- Demonstrated experience in complex subcontracting and procurement environments
- Extensive experience and knowledge of subcontracting commercial instruments, their terms, and their negotiation
