Banyule City Council is hiring aSubdivision Officer to join the Development Planning team within the Planning,Building and Laws Department.

The Planning, Building &Laws department comprises of Development Planning, BPi and Municipal Laws &Public Assets. Each team within the department manages an area of approvals,registration and statutory compliance. The Department takes a customer servicedriven approach to managing the development of the city, protection of amenityand support to residents, businesses and visitors.

About the role:

  • Register, assess and determine planning applicationsfor subdivisions in accordance with statutory controls and Council policy.
  • Assessand manage certification applications for subdivisions in accordance withstatutory controls and Council policy.
  • Maintain and update electronic subdivision applicationsand correspondence.
  • Identify the need for policy and procedural developmentand/or change.
  • Provideaccurate and expert subdivision and land tenure advice verbally and in writingto internal and external customers working with senior team members inresolving issues.
  • Manage road naming and property numbering applications
  • Registrationand allocation of Final Inspection requests.
  • Ensurea high level of customer service is delivered, providing accurate advice andguidance on issues relevant to Planning, Building and Land Survey matters.
  • Assist with and provideadministrative support to the Planning Department on day-to-day matters.

Skills, experience andcertificates:

  • Knowledge of the principles, procedures and best practice of statutory planning and land subdivision.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, corporate databases and GIS programs.
  • Excellent time management and administrative skills.
  • Customer service, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Interpersonal and communications skills including report writing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an effective team member and contribute to the team.

Mandatory Pre-employmentscreenings:

  • COVID 19 vaccination certificate
  • Victorian Driver's License
