This position sits within our Maryborough Traction Power Team where you will report directly into the Co-Ordinator Traction Power and where you will work with a supportive and engaged team that consists of two other Substation Electricians as well as the greater Traction Team of approximately seven.
About the role
- Install, maintain and repair substations, power systems and associated equipment safely and in accordance with specifications and standards
- Maintain all records and associated documentation
- Report on actual work performed against scheduled work program, equipment performance and condition irregularities
- Review current work procedures and practices for quality improvement
- Work predominately between 0700 to 1600 on a 9-day fortnight (generally with every second Friday off). You can also expect to be on call roughly every three weeks and you will be required to work some weekends and public holidays
- Frequent travelling and working predominately between Gympie to Gladstone however you may be required to travel and work in other districts when required.
About you
- Previous experience working on high voltage traction substations and associated equipment
- Sound skill in the maintenance, testing and fault rectification of high voltage traction sub-stations and associated equipment
- A safety conscious attitude with a sound knowledge of high voltage operating procedures
- Sound interpersonal, oral and written / digital communication skills
- QLD Electrical Mechanic Licence - mandatory
- 'C' class drivers licence - mandatory
- Cert IV in ESI - Power Systems Substations
