Key Responsibilities:

• Timely Deliverables: Ensure the accurate and timely submission of all team deliverables, including end-of-month reporting and GL close processes.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and proactive problem-solving.
• Process Optimization: Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness, focusing on delivering value-added services.
• Leadership Development: Develop team members into self-sustaining leaders, preparing them for future challenges and opportunities within the organization.
• SAP Migration Readiness: Prepare the team for the upcoming SAP migration, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal disruption to operations.

Candidate Requirements:

• Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in financial accounting within the mining sector, with a track record in superintendent roles.
• Hands-On Approach: Ability to lead by example with a hands-on approach, understanding the unique dynamics of the PNG context.
• Confidence and Assertiveness: Strong leadership skills with the ability to make decisions confidently and defend them when necessary.
• SAP Proficiency: Previous experience with SAP systems, preferably including involvement in migration projects.
• Approachable Leadership: An approachable and collaborative leadership style coupled with a results-oriented mindset.
