The role of OPF Operations Superintendent is to is to lead the OPF Operations team to ensure the Christmas Creek Ore Processing Facility is run in a safe and efficient manner, meeting production, cost and quality targets and ensuring all activities comply with the Fortescue license to operate.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring all OPF operations and activities are performed in line with Fortescue health, safety and environmental policies and procedures
- Safely deliver volume and quality, and operational cost commitments as per the monthly plan and weekly/daily operating plans provided by the Processing and Operations Planning teams
- Ensure effective prioritization of maintenance resources and all other plant operations activities to maintain plant availability including safe & effective execution of plant ramp down and ramp up during plant shutdowns.
- Personnel management (ensuring all training & competencies are up to date, succession planning, retention and career progression and recruitment of permanent and temporary staff)
Qualifications and Experience
- Certificate IV / Degree qualification (desirable) in Processing / Metallurgy
- C Class Drivers License
- Extensive experience in safely managing large teams and fixed plant operations preferably in complex metallurgical plants
- Significant operational experience and understanding including maintenance prioritization and process control
- Knowledge of Mine Safety and Inspection Act
- Solid demonstration of values-based leadership.
- Strong planning, organisational and scheduling skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
- The ability to develop, implement and monitor improvement plans
- Ability to manage different tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines
