ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is a Permanent position that is DIDO daily, from our Worsley Alumina Refinery, which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (45 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As the Superintendent Safety & Training, you will be responsible for the development, governance and continuous improvement of Worsley Alumina's safety management standards, procedures, tools and programs to enable the operations to effectively manage safety risk. This role will be offered on a Permanent basis.
Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:
- Support line management in their accountability for health and safety risk assessments, event investigation, field leadership and compliance to relevant safety and training requirements;
- Lead the safety and training team in the delivery of safety improvement initiatives in alignment with the business;
- Monitor the quality of HSE risk assessments, event investigation and visible field leadership, encouraging a strong culture of learning and embedment of safety improvements;
- Lead safety and training programs to the operations i.e. task-based risk management, non-significant event investigation facilitation
ABOUT YOU
You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:
- In depth knowledge and understanding of Nationally Recognised Training and AQTF Standards, Work Health Safety Act 2020 Work Health Safety Regulations (Mine) 2022
- Professional who has guided, developed and influenced practice in the health, safety and training with a minimum of 8 years' experience in a relevant industry. (i.e. mining or heavy industry)
- In-depth understanding and practical application of key concepts, theories and practices related to the effective management of Safety and health, training compliance and governance
- Demonstrated experience leading a team of safety and training professionals
Qualifications for this position are:
- Occupation Health & Safety Qualification (university level preferred)
- Training and Assessment qualification
- Certificate IV Frontline Management/Human Resources (desired)
