Who is Batchfire Resources?
Batchfire Resources is the owner of Callide Mine in Central Queensland, an open-cut coal operation located 120km southwest of Gladstone and 20km northeast of the thriving regional township of Biloela. The mine has operated since 1944 producing coal primarily for domestic power generation, alumina refining and export markets.
The career opportunity
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Superintendent – Supply to lead, direct and manage warehousing, inventory and purchasing activities on site. Reporting to the Manager – Supply & Contracts, your typical duties would include, but not be limited to the following:
- Strategically guiding warehouse and purchasing team members in the safe and efficient completion of goods handling and storage requirements (receiving, receipting, storing, issuing and despatching)
- Actively monitoring and analysing warehouse and inventory performance metrics and trends to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities, efficiency gains, working capital reduction and best in class inventory management practices.
- Coordinating hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods processes on site
- Promoting positive and productive relationships with other teams and stakeholders and maintaining open lines of communication.
- Developing and implementing effective processes and work plans to maintain quality service to customers with the ability to flex as the activity on site changes.
- Representing Batchfire to manage contracts for services related to supply, logistics and warehousing.
This is a fast paced and dynamic permanent, full-time position working a Monday to Friday roster at Callide Mine near Biloela.

To be considered for this role, you will have the following:
- strong understanding of risk awareness, hazard identification and a strong commitment to safety performance;
- strong understanding of warehouse best practice and performance measurement; and
- strong leadership capabilities and communication skills.
