About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has opened for a Technical Services Superintendent based on-site at a leading mine in Central Queensland. This role will oversee the Truck and Shovel and Drill and Blast teams, ensuring efficient and safe mining operations, optimizing production, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Your specific responsibilities include:
- Provide leadership and direction to the Truck and Shovel and Drill and Blast teams, ensuring adherence to safety standards, production targets, and operational plans.
- Develop and implement strategies to optimize equipment utilization, productivity, and efficiency of Truck and Shovel and Drill and Blast operations.
- Collaborate with mine planning, engineering, and maintenance teams to develop short and long-term plans for mining activities, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Monitor performance metrics, analyze data, and identify opportunities for improvement in processes, equipment, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and corporate policies, with a strong focus on safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.
- Lead recruitment, training, and development initiatives for the Technical Services team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mining operations, with significant exposure to Truck and Shovel and Drill and Blast activities.
- Proven track record of leadership in Technical Services roles, with demonstrated ability to manage teams and drive results in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of open-cut mining principles, equipment, and processes, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of relevant software and technology used in mining operations, including mine planning and scheduling tools.
