About the Role
Due to the award of a new contract with the South Johnstone Mill to distribute their mud, we are seeking an experienced Mud Supervisor to join our team on an 6 month fixed term contract with the view to commence back in the new year when the sugar cane season starts again.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will supervise and coordinate the work activities of the Mud Operations for the mill.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the work crew to ensure the deliverables are met
- Recruitment of future mud truck drivers
- Scheduling
- Driver Inductions
- Training of new drivers
- Coordination of rosters
- Liaising with farmers and their Managers in conjunction with the Mill
- Risk Assessments to mark out paddocks and dump spots, best entry and exit points to farms
- Check over run sheets and send to Silkwood office
- Implement NHVR and Road Transport guidelines and obligations
- Schedule maintenance with the workshop mechanics
- Monitor mud levels and adjust mud deliveries to suit
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Ability to manage and coordinate team
- Open/unrestricted drivers licence
- Demonstrated ability to develop & maintain effective working relationships with your team and clients
- Good time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills
- Team player
