An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervisor to join Service Stream in our Clayton office.
About the Role
Service Stream's Gas division are currently seeking a Supervisor to join our growing company. You will be responsible for the facilitation of safe, quality, and continuous construction by coordinating self-perform and subcontractor construction crews. The Supervisor must also ensure construction is undertaken in accordance with the Management System, and KPIs.
Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Clayton, VIC
Reporting Line: Senior Project Coordinator
Key Responsibilities:
Planning and Pre-Construction Activities
- Assist with budget and schedule as required;
- Conduct constructability review to ensure best overall solution from a quality, cost, ongoing maintenance and safety perspective for Client and Service Stream;
- Obtain relevant permits to enable work to commence and progress continuously;
- Prepare statutory bodies/authority documentation;
- Assist in the development of project management plans;
- Assist in the development of HSEQ Management plans;
- Assist in the development of all compliance documentation (ITP, checklist, SWMS, JSEA, etc.);
- Coordinate project with principal sub-contractors;
- Compile Scopes of work for subcontract agreements for procuring suppliers/subcontractors;
Construction Activities
- Ensure that HSEQ Management Plan is implemented in the field.
- Conduct toolbox meeting(s) with team;
- Conduct Field Audits;
- Endorse quality, policies and procedures;
- Assist to procure and subsequently co-ordinate resources and materials;
- Manage subcontractors;
- Manage budget and schedule;
- Manage reinstatements
- Coordinate all construction activities to budget and schedule;
- Problem solve construction issues as required;
- Create and maintain Program Reports;
- Required for nightworks, weekend works and some overtime
- Emergency Standby coverage as required
Construction Related Administration
- Complete daily quality checks via system provided (Quality and Quantity checks)
- Draft as-laids
- Create Purchase Orders
- Approve invoice receipt;
- Approve goods receipt;
- Subcontract administration;
- Assist with contract variations;
- Assist Budgets/Forecasting;
- Manage relevant quality documentation;
- Complaint handling
- Stakeholder engagement
About You
- Prior experience as a Crew Leader / Leading Hand within the utilities and/or civil constructions sector (Essential);
- Prior experience as a Supervisor / Foreman within the utilities and/or civil constructions sector (Essential);
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management/Business (Preferable);
- Relevant Trade Qualification (Preferable);
- Certificate IV in Supervision or equivalent
- Manual driver's license (Essential)
- Construction industry induction card 'white card' (Essential);
- First Aid Certificate (Level II) (Essential);
- Plant Operator Ticket (Preferable);
- Traffic Management Ticket (Preferable);
- Steel Pipeline experience
- AS2885 (Transmission Gas) (Preferable)
- HDD experience
- Gas pipeline welding, coating & testing
- Gas pipeline hydrostatic testing and commissioning
- Manage multiple stakeholders (client, community, rail authority, road authority, council, etc.)
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state and local building codes and safety laws;
- Practical understanding of relevant standards, Codes of Practice and Authority Requirements;
- Ability to lead and manage small teams;
- Ability to deal diligently, patiently and professionally with internal stakeholders, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers;
- Self-starter, able to determine own priorities and manage work accordingly;
- Positive attitude towards compliance across all business needs (safety, quality, environment, community, etc.);
- Demonstrated ability to influence others to achieve positive results for employer;
- Analytical with ability to identify and suggest areas for process improvement and drive efficiency;
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Project;
