For The Love Hospitality is a growing, professional and passionate group, run by sibling duo, Adam and Elisa Mariani. We’ve been creating since 2012, with current venues Greta and Maverick, both in the Melbourne CBD. Former venues include Mayday in Richmond, and The Petty Officer, Albert Park. Elio’s Place is the newest addition to the group, opening July 2024.
Maverick
Maverick is located in the 80 Collins precinct which has become a go-to culinary centre in the Melbourne CBD. Maverick brings a sophisticated breakfast and lunch menu with a modern flare. We serve locally roasted specialty coffee, a small wine and cocktail offering, 7 days a week.
About the role
We are seeking a Venue supervisor to work alongside the venue manager. As a member of the management team you’ll oversee all aspects of operating the cafe whilst ensuring a high standard of customer service, and fostering a cohesive work environment. Weekend availability is essential in this role.
Key responsibilities
- Leadership: Develop and motivate a team dedicated to delivering a high level of service. You will manage the venue on weekends when the Venue Manager is off duty.
- Operations: Assist in daily operations including shift management, stock control, and stakeholder management to ensure efficiency and profitability. Report directly to the Venue Manager. Monitor food and beverage quality and consistency through regular inspections and training, identify opportunities to build revenue growth.
- Customer experience: Offer each guest attentive and personalised service, reflective of company policies and procedures. Address any issues promptly and professionally.
- Community and culture: Cultivate a sense of community; work closely with all departments to deliver memorable dining experiences and a cohesive team. Build positive relationships with the wider community so as to encourage engagement and loyalty.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with food safety standards, company policies, occupational health and safety standards, while proactively identifying and mitigating operational risks.
Skills & Experience
- 1+ years proven supervisory experience in a similar setting.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate a dynamic group and foster a cohesive, strong service team.
- Ability to prepare and serve specialty coffee is advantageous but not essential.
- Sound understanding of food safety; and occupational health and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, experience working in a fast-paced dining setting.
- Genuine knowledge and a passion for food and hospitality.
- Detail oriented, strong organisational and problem solving skills.
