The purpose of the Senior Instrumentation and Controls Engineer role is to drive improvements in asset availability and manage asset lifecycle.
This role will report to Superintendent Electrical Maintenance A&I and will be based at our Worsley Alumina Refinery which is a short drive from Collie (15 minutes), Bunbury (35 minutes) and other nearby scenic communities.
As there is no accommodation on site, you will be required to drive in, drive out on a daily basis. Employees ideally live within an hour's drive of Collie.
key responsibilities are, but not limited to:
- Build effective equipment maintenance strategies and associated documentation to align with Asset Care Plan.
- Engage with maintenance execution and production teams to complete defect elimination process and maintenance improvement initiatives.
- Assist in development of asset reliability performance metrics using delay accounting and breakdowns.
- Assess and action condition-based information for critical equipment.
- Maintain disciplined approach to Asset Management and change control process.
- Ideally, 10 years as Instrumentation and Control Engineer in Refinery or heavy industry in asset management / maintenance roles.
- Extensive experience in simple and complex instruments.
- Understanding of Defect Elimination process.
- Preparing maintenance & sparing strategy of I&C items.
- Define the development options and cost estimates.
- Experience in participating and/or leading HAZOP, CHAZOP and LOPA workshops and other risk assessments.
- Tertiary Qualification in Instrumentation/ Electrical Engineering
- Graduate Certificate in Asset Management (preferred)
- Eligible for Chartered Membership of Engineers Australia
- Working rights in Australia.
