Our client is seeking to engage a Senior Supervisor on Permanent, full-time basis.

Contract Length: Permanent, Full time
Eligibility/Security Requirement: Australian Citizenship
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Key Accountabilities -
- Review and preparation of income tax returns, financial accounts, BAS’s and FBT returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, trusts, and companies.
- Draft bills for each job, calculating write-on/write-offs, and analyzing reasons for the latter.
- Provision of ancillary business services such as overseeing payroll function, bookkeeping, and assist with ad-hoc tax and entity structuring advice.
- Manage and maintain an ongoing, positive relationship with clients, acting as the main point of contact for the Firm.
- Maintain an understanding of client businesses and highlight areas/strategies to benefit the client.
- Provide direction to staff, clearly outlining their responsibilities, our expectations, and emphasizing other key factors.
- Prepare and provide review points to staff, ensuring that the review points are addressed appropriately prior to approval of work.
- Provide performance feedback on a job-by-job basis, ensuring the staff member understands areas of strength and that a clear path for improvement is identified, as required.
- Maintain up to date knowledge on technical issues such as changes to legislation and/or its application, changes in reporting requirements, etc., and provide updates and training sessions as required.
- Support and uphold all work practices in accordance with Agency’s policies and procedures.
- Actively engage in ongoing professional development and internal performance reviews.
- Demonstrate continuous ability to provide positive support and assistance to colleagues and clients to achieve desired BSD outcomes.
Academic Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
- CA/CPA Qualification required.
- Progressing MA in Accounting preferred.
Other requirements:
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Self-motivated and autonomous in seeking out professional development opportunities.
- Have 8 or more years’ experience in reviewing work at a Senior/Supervisor level.
- Be experienced in managing/supervising a team of accountants and providing performance feedback, as required.
- Have CA/CPA qualifications with a BA in Accounting.
- Be able to be in our Canberra CBD office three (3) days per week for client meetings.
- Be available full-time or part time (30 – 37.5h p/w considered).
