Supplier Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description:
An exciting leadership opportunity has arisen for a Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Manager to join the Mars Petcare Procurement team. Based ideally in Wodonga, with Melbourne as a second choice location, SQA is the technical arm of the procurement function. This role will lead the ANZ business unit SQA team to deliver optimum material quality and drive continuous improvements within the supply base.
What would be your key responsibilities?

• manage a team of Supplier Assurance Specialists to ensure effective implementation of the Materials Quality Management Standard and proactive risk management of materials used by our manufacturing facilities.

• develop the SQA strategy and key tactical steps in delivering the business quality objectives
• work closely with the Sourcing team on category sourcing strategy development and prime related projects
• Supplier management & collaboration

What are we looking for?

• Demonstrated experience in successfully leading an engaged and high performing team in a FMCG organisation
• Approximately 5-8 years of relevant experience, Sourcing, R&D, Q&FS in the food, beverage or feed industry
• Ability to work with diverse levels of internal clients and suppliers
• Ability to work independently and willing to undertake regular travel (up to 20% of time)
• An individual with high degree of ethics and integrity
• Strong analytical and problem solving skill
• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, food science, engineering or related technical field
