ABOUT THE ROLE

The Support Coordinator in the Sentence Management unit co-ordinates and assists in the management of funeral and dangerous illness applications from prisoners. The occupant is to ensure recommendations have highest regard for community safety, risk assessment and offender rehabilitation and are in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental policy and procedures.

This role is required to deal with telephone queries and correspondence and liaise with internal and external stakeholders. The role also assists the Coordinator Home Leave and the Coordinator Employment Release with the assessment process for other Absence Permit types as required.
