Are you a natural organiser, love working in a busy environment, and have experience in events with a passion for education and the arts? Applications are sought for a Support Officer to join the Community Engagement and Events unit within the Strategic Communication and Engagement (SCE) branch, to assist a small dedicated team with the delivery of major programs and events for the department. Individuals applying should have a knowledge of project management and experience in supporting the delivery of events. This is a temporary vacancy until 30 June 2024, unless otherwise determined.
About Us:
The SCE branch is responsible for the department's corporate communications, sponsorship and events as well as media and social media. Services provided by SCE ensures that the department has a strategic corporate communications framework and consistent approach to engaging with schools, members of the community, the media, business, and other government agencies.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Director, Community Engagement and Events, the Support Officer works across the Community Engagement and Events unit to assist in the delivery of major programs such as Creative Generation - State Schools Onstage (CGEN), Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Fanfare.
Responsibilities include, but not imited to;
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with Community Engagement and Events project officers to assist with the successful delivery of major programs and events.
- Coordinate the procurement of goods and services.
- Assist with event logistics such as managing invitation lists, coordinating suppliers and preparing event documents.
- Consult and communicate with teachers, parents, contractors and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Attend and assist project officers with the running of events, as required.

- Previous experience supporting the delivery of events
- Knowledge or interest in the arts
