The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility Scheme (PALM) is part of Jobs Australia Enterprises Ltd which is fast-growing and strives to make a positive impact on the lives of many people in our local, national and international communities. PALM supports workers from Pacific Island countries to have gainful employment for set periods of time throughout the year. It is a demand driven programme that contributes to the economic development of the workers' home countries as well as regional Australia. The role PALM Pastoral Support Member is an exciting seasonal position to start immediately servicing the Kempsey region. We need a self-motivated, highly organised individual to undertake extensive duties such as: arrivals and departures, inductions, weekly meetings and ensuring the well-being of our workers by providing pastoral care and associated administrative duties on an ongoing basis. It requires work flexibility to undertake some duties outside of normal business hours. About You
- Have the ability to plan ahead and be organised
- Ability to work on a flexible schedule and on short notice at times
- Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience working under pressure and tight deadlines
- Own vehicle and an unencumbered driver's licence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when dealing with people who have English as their second language
- Demonstrated experience in a highly autonomous role whilst being able to report back as required Desirable Criteria
- Previous recruitment experience.
- Experience in a support or care role
- On the job training
- High level of computer literacy especially in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of programme.
- Demonstrated ability to induct new staff from different cultural backgrounds and talk to small groups.
