Qualifications & experience
- Need a minimum certificate 3 of community services, mental health or disability
- Lived experience as a carer is advantageous
- If not a carer, a minimum of 1 year experience is required
Tasks & responsibilities
- 1 to 1 role in taking participants to an appointment
- Working as part of a team in a group activities environment in the Melbourne CBD area (must be able to travel to the CBD)
- Working with a participant during the day in respite in going to activities of interest
- Establish rapport and build trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders by showing empathy, appreciating perspective and respecting differences. Respond professionally to client concerns and maintain positive client engagements and interactions.
- Deliver client centred support services with care and compassion enabling clients to exercise informed choice and control. Promote, uphold and respect their legal and human rights.
- Communicate effectively, share information and work cooperatively with team members to contribute to the achievement of individual, team and organisational goals and a quality client service experience.
