Support Worker

Our lovely Client is a young male with a vast love for eclectic music. The ideal Support Worker for our Client is someone who is patient with a good sense of humour. If you describe yourself as “quirky”, you might be exactly what our Client is looking for – he loves random chats and fully embraces the quirkiness of life. He is looking for a Support Worker who is willing to explore his new community of Charters Towers alongside him – any local knowledge of the area would be beneficial. 

This young man is hesitant about meeting new people so softly, softly is the way forward. He is very close to his mother who is an extremely important person in his life. He has an anxious personality and due to his ASD Lv 3 diagnosis has difficulty expressing himself, so please be patient and supportive of him. 

The role will involve support with community access. A valid driver’s licence and fully insured vehicle is required for this position.

We are looking for Support Workers who have availability for shifts during the day on weekdays.

Your key responsibilities & accountabilities…  

To deliver high quality support to our Clients in the capacity they require, the exact way they would like it delivered  

Communicate effectively and collaborate for our Clients' needs with our Clients, team & Support Specialist  

Understand, follow instructions, and be responsive to our Clients needs  

Provide support to our Clients as required  

Have good rapport building skills and a gentle, encouraging manner  

Be reliable and flexible to fill shifts when required  

Have an interest in building a respectful relationship with our Clients  

To support our Clients to achieve their NDIS Goals  

To be Successful you must…  

Resonate with the role description above  

Hold CPR and first aid certificate (or willingness to obtain)  

Hold NDIS worker screening or yellow card (or willingness to obtain)  

Hold or be willing to obtain a blue card  

Hold Certificate III in disability or related fields (or willingness to obtain- preferred)  

Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia  

Have a genuine desire to positively change people's lives  

Manual handling experience required
