Remuneration: OPS2 ($57,842 - $62,221 p.a. + 11% Super)
The Department for Child Protection is seeking a Support Worker to join the Port Lincoln office on a full-time ongoing basis.
The role is responsible for:
- Sensitively handling requests for assistance by clients and undertaking research to prepare appropriate, client centred responses
- Enabling clients to access appropriate services through accurate assessment of their request and appropriate referral to Social Workers or to other agency staff
- Contributing to the development and review of intervention, access and family care plans in relation to access supervision
- Attending regular case discussions with the DCP workers, supervisor and other relevant parties as required
- Undertaking child and family support and assisting with programs and activities with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
We are looking for a resourceful individual able to display initiative and confidence in taking action to achieve daily objectives.
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work within a team and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with a range of stakeholders.
You will use your understanding of child development, positive parenting techniques and factors that impact on relationships between children, young people and their families to identify innovative solutions and provide efficient client services.

The Region
Port Lincoln is located 647 km from Adelaide and takes approximately 7 hours to drive. Port Lincoln is situated on Boston Bay, one of the largest protected natural harbours in the world three times the size of Sydney Harbour.
The Port Lincoln office is situated on the township foreshore within the metro precinct and employs approximately 20 people. As a member of this team you will work with other professionals to deliver services to Port Lincoln Community. As a member of this team, you will also work with and develop strong partnerships with other internal and external partners, many of which will be located within the community.
