About the role
The Bilingual Support Worker is an integral member of our Humanitarian Settlement Program (HSP) teams, bringing their cultural knowledge and fluency in specific languages to support newly arrived humanitarian entrants to settle and orientate to life in Australia. This position is for someone who speaks Arabic, has lived or acquired cultural understanding of the Arabic speaking communities.
About you
- Fluency in Arabic and dialects at High School Graduate level
- High School Graduate level comprehension of spoken and written English that enables you to give descriptive explanations of meaning and required actions
- Understanding of the needs of humanitarian migrants who have experienced multiple and complex vulnerabilities
- Understanding of the people, cultural and political history of people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds
- Sound knowledge and proficiency in use of software applications including databases and Microsoft suite of programs
- Hold a valid Driver’s License

This role is covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Award – Level 3. Salary from $71,155.76 FTE + superannuation + access to salary packaging.
