As a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing culturally and linguistically diverse services, Fronditha Care offers unique residential and support services to elderly people of Greek-speaking and multilingual backgrounds. In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide essential care and support to our elderly participants in the comfort of their own homes.
You will also have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with our participants and their families, fostering a sense of community and belonging.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care to our elderly participants, including assistance with activities of daily living, mobility assistance, assistance with eating and drinking, and respite care.
- Keep accurate and up-to-date records and observe the conditions of our elderly participants, reporting any concerns to the appropriate authorities.
- Empower our elderly participants to make their own decisions and promote their overall well-being.
- Assist with cleaning, laundering, ironing, and other light duties in a household setting within our Community Service division.
- Providing transportation (e.g. medical appointments, shopping)
- Meal preparation in a home setting.
Requirements:
- Certificate III in Individual Support (minimum qualification).
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a similar field.
- Previous experience in providing personal care services in an Aged Care Facility or in Home & Community Care.
- Bilingual proficiency - fluent in English and Greek.
- Fully vaccinated as per applicable Federal and State government requirements for employees working in Health & Aged Care industry.
- A team-oriented attitude, empathy and problem solving skills.
- Commitment to deliver quality care to our elderly.
