Job Description: AU PlusCaring Services is offering casual positions for Disability and Mental Health Support Workers with at least one year of industry or educational experience in Greater Sydney.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Encouraging community participation among participants.
- Assisting participants in achieving their personal goals, such as budget management, communication skills, and emotional expression.
- Supporting clients in accessing community services and activities.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with clients, their families, and other care professionals.
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
- Providing support for personal hygiene and daily living tasks, including cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
- Transporting participants to appointments, shopping, and other errands.
- Maintaining clear and timely communication and documentation, shared with support coordinators, AU PlusCaring Services leaders, and fellow Support Workers.
About You:
- Previous experience as a Support Worker or in a similar role.
- Certificate III in Individual Support (or equivalent).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid NSW Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle.
- Must have a car.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful attitude towards clients.
- Skills: detail-oriented, solution-focused, person-centred, strength-based, team player, hard-working, dedicated to enhancing the lives of those with disabilities.
- At least one year of experience in the community care industry or studying in a relevant field.
- Genuine desire to provide the best quality care for people with disabilities.
- Demonstrate awareness of disability issues.
