Birrang Enterprise Development Co Ltd is an innovative not for profit organisation delivering various services and programs to our region since 2003. As a NDIS provider Birrang offers NDIS supports and services to clients in the community wishing to reach their individual goals. Support Coordinators assist NDIS participants with the implementation of supports that are funded in their plan. We are looking for an ethically minded, compassionate individual to join our dynamic Orange based team. Training in all aspects of the role will be provided to the successful applicant
About Your Role:
The key responsibility of a Support Worker is to work directly with individuals supporting them to achieve their goals. This may include:
- Supporting individuals to gain independence in everyday life and learn new skills
- Connecting individuals with recreational, sporting or community groups
- Collaborating with key people in an individual's life, including family members, employers or other support services to achieve the best outcomes
- Role model and advocate for people living with disability in the community
- Build rapport and collaborate effectively with participants and their support network, including staff/management, families and friends
- Implement Individual Plans and Positive Behaviour Support Plans
- Data Collection of support needs and behaviors of concern
- Engage participants appropriately in activities of preference
- Support participants to engage in community access to build skills and capacity
- Work with challenging and complex participants with behaviours of concern
- Transport participants

- Ability to create and maintain professional working relationships
- Ability to work autonomously and within a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Be flexible and adaptable to individual needs
- Be organised and have good time management skills
- Flexibility with hours is essential and is dependent on different client's needs.
- Be reliable with a can-do attitude
Applicants will be required to pass:
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- NDIS Worker Screening
- Police Check
What is required for the role:
- Current NSW Drivers licence (Can be provisional)
