A day in the life of a Lifestyle Support Worker…
The Disability Support Worker is responsible for the care, management and support of people living with a disability. This role involves the day-to-day care for individuals in their home, domestic duties, personal care/hygiene practices, provision of meals and supporting clients in the community.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Administer or assist participants with medications.
- Support participants to develop and maintain independence and safety in personal care, and health & hygiene such as eating, dressing, toileting, and showering.
- Provide person-centred and active support to participants to assist with achievement of goals.
- Work within policies and procedures related to quality service delivery.
- REQUIREMENT: Must be available to work mornings, afternoons, nights and sleepovers
The Successful Applicant
- Preferred Certificate III in Individual Support or qualification relevant to the Industry
- Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, good communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, including genuine and passionate commitment to the rights of people with a disability to enjoy fulfilled lives and valued roles within the community.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a busy environment and complete administrative tasks within designated timeframes with accuracy and high attention to detail.
