As a Process Operator you’ll be responsible for setting up, programming, operation and basic maintenance of the Surface Mount and Through Hole line. You will also enjoy the opportunity to work in other roles within the Manufacturing area as demand requires including, testing, programming and electronic assembly.
What you’ll do
- Ensure smooth and efficient operation of the SMT production line.
- Operate all relevant machinery, tools, and equipment and undertake standard and complex production tasks safely and in accordance with work instructions as well as operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate daily production records so that manufacturing performance can be analysed, resolve basic problems, or escalate to the next level more complex problems.
- Operate all aspects of the Surface Mount (SMT) & Through Hole (TH) line making adjustments as required and reporting any errors or defects as they occur.
- Modifying machine programs to optimize performance and output quality.
- Routine cleaning of equipment, workspace, and environment to assure clean and safe place to work and that equipment stays in good working condition.
- Setting up and operating the reflow oven & wave solder oven to solder printed circuit board assemblies.
- Final assembly, Test & Programming of electronic assemblies.
- Actively participate in continuous improvements initiatives within a LEAN environment.
Your qualifications
- 2+ years’ experience in the electronics manufacturing industry.
- Cert IV or Diploma in Electrical / Electronics from TAFE or equivalent.
- Experience operating SMT machines advantageous.
- Experience with electronic components and assembly.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office package – Word, Excel etc.
- Sound communication skills with ability to follow clear instructions and perform a high quality of work.
