About the job
As a Sustainability Adviser within SA Water’s Science and Strategy Business Group, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the implementation of SA Water’s sustainability approach. Your primary responsibility will be to provide guidance, technical advice, and performance reporting to uplift organisational capability and drive the achievement of SA Water’s sustainability goals.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Deliver business process improvements and specific initiatives in support of the Sustainability Framework.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and capital projects for sustainable procurement and implementation of Sustainability in Design principles.
- Offer expert advice and guidance on sustainability-related matters aligned with corporate strategies and Sustainability Framework.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability considerations into all aspects of business planning and project development.
- Develop, implement, and maintain sustainability reporting metrics aligned with internal and external ESG reporting requirements.
- Lead sustainability assessments, audits, and research on emerging sustainability trends to inform decision-making.
Your success in this role will come from:
- Tertiary qualifications in sustainability or relevant equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in sustainability management, preferably in the water utility sector or similar industry.
- Demonstrated analytical capability and ability to convey complex information effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to engage with senior managers and external stakeholders.
- Certification in ISC (ISAP) and experience in IS Ratings Scheme (Desirable)
- Ability to identify new ways to support and implement continuous improvement (Desirable)
- Demonstrated experience in leading cross-functional projects and delivering business outcomes (Desirable)
