We are seeking an experienced Sustainability and ESG Coordinator. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Sustainability and a commitment to making a positive environmental impact.
This is a part-time position working three days per week from our Lorna Jane HQ in Eagle Farm.
Reporting to the Head of Production & Buy, the Sustainability and ESG Coordinator will play an integral role in driving our sustainability initiatives, ensuring we meet our environmental objectives, and contributing to our vision of making a positive impact on the planet.
Major areas of responsibility will include:
- Lead and manage sustainability projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Coordinate endorsement and suppliers, maintaining oversight of ethical sourcing.
- Assist with supply chain administration and mapping.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on sustainability performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws and standards.
- Assist with the finalization and implementation of Human Rights policies.
- Manage audit programs and supplier engagement on non-conformances.
- Assist with maintenance of efficient systems for supplier certifications and audit reports.
- Report data for Annual Sustainability Reports and Carbon Emissions.
- Identify and implement sustainable practices across operations.
- Develop Responsible Purchasing practices.
- Review social audits and corrective action plans.
- Act as an expert resource for the production team on labor standards.
- Monitor performance against sustainability goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage sustainability strategies and policies.
- Stay informed about emerging sustainability trends and regulations.
- Implement worker voice and grievance mechanisms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to promote sustainability practices.
- Engage team members in sustainability initiatives and foster a culture of environmental responsibility.
- Develop and deliver training programs on sustainability issues and practices.
You will have
- Proven experience in a sustainability role, preferably within apparel.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and environmental regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Sustainability or related field is highly advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills.
