Your new role
As the Sustainability Manager, you will provide subject matter expertise to support RCH and the Melbourne Children’s Campus partners – MCRI, UoM Dept. of Paediatrics and RCH Foundation in its goal to reduce its impact on the environment and carbon footprint of the hospital precinct located in Parkville and the RCH satellite service delivery sites. You’ll:
- Build the evidence to provide recommendations on best practice sustainability initiatives and programs to ensure continual improvement across the organisation and our campus
- Manage the implementation and maintenance of environmental management systems including the responsibility of data entry, analysis, and management of the energy & waste data collection
- Lead the monitoring and reporting on sustainability targets, measures and performance across projects and programs to inform key issues, ensure alignment to the Sustainability Plan and performance against objectives
- Lead sustainability awareness to develop sustainability capabilities and knowledge sharing across the business and with our campus partners
- Develop, implement, and manage project and change management initiatives in collaboration with project sponsors across the campus
- Develop and implement a uniform and consistent approach to monitoring and reporting on the campus’ environmental performance and the progress of RCH sustainability initiatives
What you’ll need to succeed
As well as having tertiary qualifications in Sustainability, Engineering or a related discipline, you’ll have:
- Significant experience in addressing sustainability in the areas of energy, waste, water, procurement, transport and capital works
- Demonstrated experience in sustainability leadership and stakeholder engagement functions to ensure cross-organisation collaboration and engagement
- Ability to provide technical support and advice on sustainability issues to support the implementation of sustainability policy, plans and systems across the organisation
- Experience in liaising with consultants and technical teams ensuring high levels of professionalism, subject matter excellence
- Significant experience with sustainability plan delivery, continuous improvement and project and change management
- Proven leadership experience in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member
