About the opportunity
We have an exciting maternity relief opportunity available for a Sustainability Officer to join our Environment and Waste team.
You will be responsible for preparing and facilitating Council and community environmental programs as well as providing environment sustainability education services to Council, residents, industry and visitors within the Cessnock Local Government Area.
Our team has a number of exciting projects that you will have the opportunity to contribute to including:
- Assisting our Bushcare groups increasing the biodiversity in our area.
- Working with local schools and preschools in our Green schools program.
- Community behaviour change with the progression of our garden organics (GO) collection to food and garden organics collection (FOGO).
This is a full-time position, however, we will consider candidates who are interested in part-time work.

Remuneration:
$82,276 - $94,618 per annum plus superannuation
