About the role
We are looking for an experienced Sustainment Engineer - Facilities with NV2 security clearance to be part of an exciting Defence project to start in July 2024 for a period of 3 years. This role is part Project Manager and part Engineer.
About you
Responsibilities and Key SFIA 5 Skills:

• Planning and managing upgrades to F-35 facilities with a passive ICT Infrastructure element, from Concept Design through to physical installation, verification and CHOTO.
• Ensuring network interconnects, rack elevations and building capacity are maintained to allow for future improvements.
• Liaison with relevant 81WG, ACSPO, DDG, CASG etc. authorities as required.
• Takes full responsibility for the definition, approach, facilitation and satisfactory completion of medium-scale activities (typically with direct business impact and firm deadlines).
• Identifies, assesses and manages risks to ensure success.
• Ensures that realistic project plans are maintained and ensures regular and accurate communication to stakeholders.
• Adopts appropriate project management methods and tools whether predictive (plan-driven) approaches or adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
• Ensures Quality reviews occur on schedule and according to procedure.
• Manages the change control procedure, and ensures that project deliverables are completed within agreed cost, timescale and resource budgets, and are signed off.
• Provides effective leadership to the project team, and takes appropriate action where team performance deviates from agreed tolerances.

Requirements:

• NV2 essential.
• Minimum 5 years experience ideally with Defence or Federal Government.
• Any previous experience with MPI Air 6000 (F-35 Lightening) a distinct advantage.
• Indigenous and First National candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
• SFIA level 5
